TWIN BUTTERFLIES - I painted “Twin Butterflies” shortly after the 9-11 World Trade Center tragedy.  NYC had been my home for 10 years and watching the towers burn I knew the world had changed overnight.  The two butterflies rising above the flowers represent the towers transformation and sudden change.  I painted thistles, which I later discovered stand for bravery in flower lore.
